IT’S THE END OF THE ROAD FOR SITSEBE IN THE HOLLYWOODBETS COSAFA WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP

Sitsebe SaMhlekazi  has been knocked out of the Hollywoodbets COSAFA Women’s Championship 2025 after a narrow 2-1 defeat to Zambia. The national team’s final Group B match took place on Tuesday afternoon at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane, South Africa.

Eswatini started strongly, taking an early lead in the 14th minute through a skillful strike by Nonjabuliso Mokgale. However, the lead was short-lived; Zambia equalized in the 22nd minute when Agnes Musesa headed home from a corner kick. This marked the third goal Eswatini conceded in the tournament as a result of failing to deal with a cross, leaving the sides level at 1-1 by half-time.

In the second half, Zambia found the winner in the 57th minute through Avell Chitundu, securing the maximum points for the defending champions.

Despite the early exit, Sitsebe’s performance reflected a growing sense of belief and resilience. The squad gained valuable experience, particularly notable as many players have recently transitioned from the U20 Women’s National Team to the senior stage.
