FIFA LAUNCHES CLUBS PROFESSIONALISATION AND MANAGEMENT PROGRAMME IN ESWATINI

The FIFA Club Professionalisation and Management Programme Workshop officially commenced at the Sibane Sami Hotel on Thursday, 12 February 2026.

This intensive two-day training brings together leadership from the Premier League of Eswatini (PLE), the Women’s Football Association (WFA), and their respective member clubs. Led by FIFA consultants, the sessions are designed to equip participants with essential skills in governance, finance, strategic planning, and commercial and marketing.

In his opening remarks, EFA President Mr. Peter Simelane welcomed the FIFA delegation and expressed his gratitude for FIFA’s investment in local football. He noted that the initiative is vital for narrowing the gap between top-performing and emerging clubs, ultimately transforming them into viable businesses both on and off the pitch.

“This is an opportunity to be empowered by contemporary methods in governance and operational efficiency,” Mr. Simelane stated, commending club leaders for their dedication to the programme.

David Fani, FIFA’s Regional Office Lead, applauded the EFA’s ongoing commitment to national football development. He urged all attendees to maximize the opportunity, stating, “This is a landmark FIFA initiative. It is significant for every participant to leverage these tools to elevate the standard of the game in Eswatini.”
