EFA STRENGTHENS GIRLS’ FOOTBALL PATHWAY WITH INTERMEDIATE COACHING COURSE

The Eswatini Football Association (EFA) has officially launched the Intermediate Football Coaching Course for coaches participating in the EFA| FIFA U15 and U19 Girls Schools Development League.

The course, which is being held at the EFA Lobamba Technical Centre from 22 to 28 June 2026, has 25 participants.

Following the successful completion of the Basic Football Coaching Course last year, the EFA has introduced this intermediate-level programme as part of its ongoing commitment to enhancing the technical capacity and expertise of coaches involved in the development of girls’ football. The course comprises both theoretical and practical sessions, with final examinations scheduled for Saturday and Sunday morning.

Officially opening the course, EFA General Secretary, Mr. Frederick Mngomezulu, welcomed the participants and congratulated them on successfully completing the basic coaching level. He encouraged them to remain focused, disciplined, and committed throughout the programme.

“We have capable instructors with the highest qualifications in coach education who will impart the necessary knowledge and skills required for your development,” said Mngomezulu.

He further assured participants of the EFA’s continued support in their coaching journey.

“The EFA will always be at your disposal as you continue to climb the ladder in coach education,” he added.

The EFA Women’s Football Officer, Ms. Sibongile Skaggel, echoed the General Secretary’s sentiments and urged participants to make the most of the opportunity, emphasizing their important role in the growth of women’s football in Eswatini.

“I urge every participant to maximize this opportunity because you are significant stakeholders in the development of women’s football. The knowledge and skills you acquire here will contribute immensely to the growth of the game at grassroots level,” said Skaggel.

The Intermediate Football Coaching Course forms part of the EFA’s broader efforts, supported by FIFA, to strengthen coach education and create a sustainable pathway for the development of girls’ football in the country. Through empowering coaches with advanced coaching knowledge and practical skills, the programme aims to improve the quality of football development within schools and contribute to the long-term growth of the women’s game in Eswatini.
