CAF EXIT: NSINGIZINI, GREEN MAMBA BOW OUT

Eswatini’s 2026/27 CAF interclub campaign has come to an end, with Nsingizini Hotspurs F.C. and Green Mamba F.C. exiting at the preliminary-round stage following their respective aggregate defeats.

Nsingizini Hotspurs’ TotalEnergies CAF Champions League journey ended at Somhlolo National Stadium on Saturday after the Eswatini champions were held to a goalless draw by Zimbabwe’s Scottland F.C., bowing out 1–0 on aggregate.

Nsingizini faced an uphill battle from the first leg in Harare on 6 September after being reduced to 10 men early in the match. Neville Tengeg’s 68th-minute goal handed Scottland a narrow advantage.

The Eswatini champions responded with a determined home performance in the return leg but could not find the goal needed to force the tie level, bringing their continental campaign to an end.

Coach Mandla Qhogi praised his players for their commitment and fighting spirit, particularly after the challenge of playing with 10 men in the first leg.

Meanwhile, Green Mamba F.C. bowed out of the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup following a 4–0 aggregate defeat to Angola’s Clube Desportivo 1º de Agosto.

The Eswatini side suffered a 2–0 defeat in the first leg at Somhlolo National Stadium on 5 September, before another 2–0 loss in Luanda on 11 September sealed their elimination.

While both campaigns ended at the preliminary stage, the participation of Nsingizini Hotspurs and Green Mamba provided valuable continental exposure for Eswatini players, coaches and clubs.

The Eswatini Football Association commends both clubs for representing the country on the continental stage and encourages continued investment in club development as Eswatini seeks to strengthen its competitiveness in CAF interclub competitions.
