26 Women’s Football Administrators Graduate from COSAFA Development Workshop

The Eswatini Football Association (EFA) has officially awarded certificates to 26 women’s club football administrators following their successful completion of the COSAFA Women’s Club Development Workshop.

The initiative, executed by COSAFA in collaboration with CAF, was held virtually from November 11–14, 2024. It aimed to professionalize women’s football across the region by equipping administrators with essential skills ranging from pitch-side management to corporate branding.

Professionalizing the Game
The workshop provided intensive training on several key pillars of club management:

  • Brand Positioning: Strategies to attract sponsors and boost financial stability.
  • Marketing: Modern techniques to market both individual clubs and the Women’s League to stakeholders.
  • Operational Excellence: Best practices for managing club offices and player welfare.

To complement the online sessions, the EFA hosted an additional face-to-face seminar on the day of certification. These sessions covered critical and evolving topics, including safeguarding, anti-doping, and the governance structures of FIFA and the Eswatini Women Football Association.

Leadership Remarks
EFA General Secretary, Mr. Frederick Mngomezulu, congratulated the graduates and urged them to become catalysts for change.

“We hope such programs gain momentum and continue to improve the game while setting a professional environment for girls to participate in football,” said Mngomezulu. He encouraged the administrators to apply their new knowledge to create safer, more competitive, and financially viable clubs.

The participants expressed their gratitude to the EFA, pledging to implement these professional standards within their respective teams to take women’s football to greater heights.
