SITSEBE SAMHLEKAZI IN SEARCH OF A REVENGE AGAINST NAMIBIA

Sometimes you have to give people a taste of their own medicine. This is exactly what the Senior Women’s National Team (Sitsebe SaMhlekazi) wants to execute when Eswatini play against Namibia in the TotalEnergies WAFCON 2026 Qualifiers. The national team will host Namibia on Friday, 21st February 2025 at the Somhlolo National Stadium and then play the 2nd leg match against the same opponent on the 26th February 2025.

Speaking to the members of the media during the national team’s open media day held at the EFA’s Technical Centre on Wednesday morning; the head coach Bongani Makhukhula highlighted that they will work hard in getting good results against Namibia. “Let me first congratulate the players for their call-ups. I as far as the preparations are concerned; the players are working very hard as they want to represent the country very well,” Makhukhula said.

He also stated that even though they promoted some players from the U20 national team; they are looking forward to a better performance than before considering the period they will spend in camp. “We have promoted some U20 players for the future; and having said that, we are looking forward to a better performance considering the more time we will spend in camp than previous the previous camp when we were preparing for the Hollywoodbets COSAFA Women’s Championship.

The head coach ‘s words were echoed by the national team captain, Nonhle Simelane and Sinethemba Sukati. “The preparations are going well and we are working hard in getting positive results,” the skipper said. “We are doing well in camp and this being my first call-up, I will work hard in helping the national team in getting positive results,” Sukati said.
