ESWATINI U20 WOMEN’S NATIONAL TEAM HOST SOUTH AFRICA IN FIFA U20 WORLD CUP QUALIFIERS 2026
The Eswatini U20 Women’s National Team has spent the past two weeks in camp preparing for their FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup Qualifier 2026 against South Africa on Friday, 19 September 2026. The match will be played at Somhlolo National Stadium in Lobamba, with kick-off at 15:00 (3:00 PM). Admission to the stadium is free.
Head coach Artwell Dludlu praised the players for their commitment and hard work, saying they have trained tirelessly and are ready to compete. “The players are looking forward to the match as they have been working tirelessly in camp,” Dludlu said, adding that the team’s aim is not only to participate but to challenge their opponents competitively.
As part of their preparations, the squad recently played a practice match in Mozambique—an exercise that further strengthened their readiness for the upcoming qualifier.
Dludlu also highlighted the long-term potential of the current group, suggesting many of these players could form the backbone of the senior women’s national team, Sitsebe SaMhlekazi, within the next three years.
Captain Bethusile Mathonsi echoed the coach’s confidence, describing the squad as motivated and hungry for success. “The players are looking forward to the match, and they are hungry for success as they love playing football,” she said.
