ESWATINI U15 NATIONAL TEAMS READY FOR CAF AFRICAN SCHOOLS FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP 2025
The Eswatini U15 Boys and Girls national teams are set to travel to Stellenbosch, South Africa, to compete in the CAF African Schools Football Championship scheduled for 5 to 7 December 2025, where a record 11 COSAFA nations will compete.
The girls’ team, under Head Coach Sifiso Dlamini, has performed well in friendly matches and is determined to surpass last year’s semi-final finish. “Last year we ended in the semi-finals, but this time our target is not only to reach the finals but to win the trophy,” Coach Dlamini declared. U15 Women’s National Team captain Amahle Mamba added that they are ready, having trained very hard, and asked for the nation’s support.
The U15 Men’s National Team, led by Head Coach Sonnyboy Nkhoma, also arrives in top form after winning recent friendlies as part of their preparations. “We are ready and our target is clear: to win,” said Coach Nkhoma. Speaking on behalf of the boys’ team, Sinakekelwe Ngwenya echoed the confidence, highlighting the intensity of their training. “The way these trainings have been intense, we can’t afford to lose,” he said.
EFA Chief Executive Officer Mr. Frederick Mngomezulu thanked parents, schools, and the Ministry of Education for releasing the players for training. “Both teams are well prepared and will travel on Tuesday morning. We wish them safe passage and believe they will return with honours,” he said.
