ESWATINI BATTLES THROUGH CHALLENGING FIFAe NATIONS LEAGUE WEEK 2 FIXTURE

The Eswatini eFootball National Team was back in action yesterday as Week 2 of the FIFAe Nations League 2026 qualifiers got underway, with the Kingdom’s representatives facing a demanding schedule against some of Africa’s strongest esports nations.

Having successfully advanced to the Round of 16 during Week 1 of the competition, Team Eswatini entered the latest round determined to continue its impressive qualification campaign and accumulate valuable ranking points towards continental qualification.

Placed in a highly competitive Group A, Eswatini faced five fixtures on Monday evening against the Democratic Republic of Congo, South Africa, Senegal, Somalia, and Seychelles. The group is regarded as one of the toughest in the African qualifiers, particularly with Senegal entering Week 2 as the reigning Week 1 champions.

Representing the nation were Siyagcinwa Zulu, Seneme Khumalo, Cedusizi Nkambule, and Mzwakhile Gujam, who earned national team selection following their strong performances at the EFA eFootball National Championship held earlier this year.

The FIFAe Nations League serves as the primary qualification pathway towards the FIFAe World Cup 2026 featuring eFootball. The competition is contested in a 2v2 format and is played across three qualification weeks, with national teams competing for consistency points and continental ranking positions.

For Eswatini, every match in Week 2 carried significant importance as the nation seeks to strengthen its position on the continental leaderboard and move closer to securing a place in the next stage of the FIFAe World Cup qualification process.

The participation of Eswatini in the FIFAe Nations League continues to highlight the country’s growing presence in international esports, providing local gamers with an opportunity to compete against some of Africa’s elite eFootball nations on the global FIFAe stage.

A lot is at stake as in as far as the FIFAe Nations League is concerned because, after the three qualifying-weeks in the FIFAe Nations League, the FIFAe Continental Championships will take the centre stage as it will bring together the top-performing nations in each region to give it all for glory.

These nations will compete to become the first-ever FIFAe Continental Champions and to qualify to the pinnacle events held later this year. The FIFA e Continental Champions will be held in Casablanca, Morocco as from August 27th -29th, 2026. A total of eight countries will qualify for this stage of the competition.
