EFA STEPS UP COACH DEVELOPMENT WITH 59 COACHES ENROLLED IN TRAINING PROGRAMMES

The Eswatini Football Association (EFA) has intensified its investment in football development with the commencement of its Basic and Intermediate Football Coaching Courses at the Lobamba Technical Centre on Saturday, 10 October 2026. The three-month programmes bring together 59 coaches seeking to strengthen their technical knowledge and coaching competencies, reinforcing the Association’s commitment to building a qualified coaching workforce and raising football standards across the Kingdom of Eswatini.

To qualify for the Basic Football Coaching Course, candidates are required to possess a high school qualification. Admission to the Intermediate course, meanwhile, is open to candidates who have held a Basic coaching qualification for more than one year.

The three-month programmes will combine online learning during weekdays with physical and practical sessions conducted over weekends. This blended learning approach is designed to provide participants with a balance of theoretical knowledge and practical coaching experience while accommodating their other professional and football-related commitments.

Throughout the courses, participants will be equipped with essential coaching principles, player development techniques and practical skills to support their work at grassroots and competitive levels. The training is also intended to strengthen their ability to identify, nurture and develop football talent while contributing to improved coaching standards within their respective clubs and communities.

The Basic and Intermediate Football Coaching Courses form part of the EFA’s broader commitment to coach education and capacity building. By expanding access to structured coaching qualifications, the Association continues to invest in the people responsible for shaping the future of football in Eswatini.

Through these programmes, the EFA seeks to strengthen the technical foundation of the game, promote the development of young players and ensure that coaches are better equipped to meet the evolving demands of modern football.

The commencement of the two courses marks another important step in the Association’s ongoing efforts to build a stronger football development pathway, from grassroots participation to the highest levels of the game.
