EFA PRESIDENT BIDS GREEN MAMBA FAREWELL AHEAD OF ANGOLA CLASH

The Eswatini Football Association (EFA) President, Mr Peter Simelane, has bid farewell to Green Mamba F.C. as the club departs the country for Angola, where they will face C.D. Primeiro de Agosto in the second leg of their CAF Confederation Cup encounter.

The EFA President used the occasion to encourage the players and technical team to remain focused and disciplined as they carry Eswatini’s hopes onto the continental stage.

“We wish Green Mamba a safe journey and success in Angola. They are not only representing the club, but they are carrying the flag of Eswatini. We urge them to remain focused, believe in themselves and give their very best,” said President Simelane.

Also present to see the team off was Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) Chairperson, Mr Polycarp Dlamini, who expressed confidence in the team’s preparations and urged the players to approach the encounter with determination.

“This is an important assignment for Green Mamba and for Eswatini football. We believe the team is ready, and we encourage them to go out there and compete with confidence,” said Dlamini.

Green Mamba head coach Mthunzi Ginindza said the team has used the preparations to address areas identified from the first leg and is ready for the challenge awaiting them in Angola.

“The preparations have gone well. We have worked on the areas that needed improvement and the players understand what is expected of them. We are ready to compete,” Ginindza said.

The coach acknowledged the magnitude of the continental assignment but maintained that his charges will approach the match with confidence and a strong competitive mentality.

Green Mamba captain Mthunzi Mkhonto said the players are motivated and determined to give a strong account of themselves.

“We know the importance of this game and what it means to represent Eswatini. We are ready to fight for the badge, for our supporters and for the country,” said Mkhonto.

The captain further called on supporters back home to continue rallying behind the team as they seek to make a positive impact on the continental stage.

Green Mamba’s participation in the CAF Confederation Cup represents an important opportunity for the club to showcase Eswatini football beyond the country’s borders.

As the team heads to Angola, the EFA wishes the players, technical team and officials a safe journey and a successful campaign.
