FIFA WOMEN’S FOOTBALL CAMPAIGN COACHING COURSE OFFICIALLY OPENED AT LOBAMBA TECHNICAL CENTRE

The Eswatini Football Association officially opened the FIFA Women’s Football Campaign Coaching Course at Lobamba Technical Centre on Tuesday, 10 March 2026. The introductory grassroots course aims to sensitise participants and increase female participation in football while building more female coaches and coach educators.

This 5-day course forms part of FIFA’s 13 key development programmes, following Eswatini’s successful pass of strategic planning process. A total of 32 coaches showing a strong female attendance aims to bring more girls on board and find more female coaches.

EFA Executive Committee member Mrs Phumzile Dlamini, representing the President and Executive Committee, officially opened the course. She expressed deep gratitude to FIFA for continued investment in women’s football. “This initiative is extremely welcome as it will help create awareness on the significance of women’s football and ensure it is practised and enjoyed in the same way as the men’s game – or better,” she stated. Mrs Dlamini applauded schools and teachers for collaborating to grow the game through the education system, emphasising the course’s role in empowering participants with contemporary methods and scientific approaches to football development.

This is a 5 days course from Tuesday 10 March until Saturday 14 March. The campaign aligns with FIFA’s Women’s Football Strategy 2024–2027, targeting 60 million female players globally by 2027.
