SITSEBE SAMHLEKAZI DRAWN IN GROUP B AT HOLLYWOODBETS COSAFA WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP 2025

The Eswatini senior women’s national team, Sitsebe SaMhlekazi, has been drawned in Group B with Zambia, Botswana and Zimbabwe for the Hollywoodbets COSAFA Women’s Championship 2025, following the official draw held in South Africa.

Sitsebe Head Coach Bongani Makhukhula acknowledged the strength of the group but expressed optimism. “It does look like a tough draw looking at the rankings of our opponents,” he said. “But we are positive because this time our league is still active, unlike previous editions where we had to start from scratch as these championships were realized during the off-season. The players are in form, so we only need to work mostly on combinations and tactics.”

Coach Makhukhula highlighted the confidence gained from recent friendlies, including the victory over Mozambique, adding: “The previous results from international friendly matches against Mozambique will be our foundation in as far as the moral boost for the players is concerned.”

The training programme for the national team has commenced, and will continue until the squad leave Eswatini for South Africa to compete in the championships.
