Eswatini is 180 minutes away from making a maiden appearance in a CAF competition. This is after Eswatini eliminated Zimbabwe from the TotalEnergies CHAN Qualifiers on Saturday night in a match that was played at the Mbombela Stadium. The lone goal for the match was scored by Junior Magagulain the 69th minute which made the aggregate score to be 4-0 in favour of Eswatini. During the post-match press conference, Sihlangu SeMnikati head coach, Zdravko Logarusic stated that this was a difficult match and they will use the TotalEnergies AFCON Qualifier matches against Guinea Bissau and Mali to prepare for the last round of the TotalEnergies CHAN Qualifiers against Madadgascar. “It was a difficult match even though we controlled the game. I am happy with the results but we can improve. We will use the upcoming TotalEnergies AFCON Qualifiers against Guinea Bissau and Mali to prepare for the next round of the TotalEnergies CHAN Qualifiers against Madagascar”said Logarusic.
The head coach of the national team of Zimbabwe, Takesure Chiragwi was happy with the performance of the players regardless of the loss. “It was a better performance by the players as compared to the first leg. This is a youthful squad which we are exposing at international level so that they can integrate well with the main national team.
