SIHLANGU AIMS FOR A WIN AGAINST SOMALIA IN MOROCCO
The Senior Men’s National Team (Sihlangu SeMnikati will begin its campaign in the TotalEnergies AFCON Qualifiers when the play against Somalia in the preliminary round. The two national teams will play the 1st leg on the 20th March 2024 in Morocco and the 2nd leg will be played on the 26th March 2024 at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit, South Africa.
Speaking to the members of the media on Friday morning, Sihlangu head coach Dominic Kunene stated that the away match in Morocco will not be an easy one as they must work hard for the positive results. “It will not be an easy match as we have to work hard in order to get positive results”, Kunene said. Having played in Morocco before during the previous qualifiers of the last edition of the TotalEnergies AFCON Qualifiers, Sihlangu’s head coach is confident that the players will have no challenges n playing in Morocco. “Playing in Morocco will not be much of a challenge as we have played in Morocco before; however, it is important to prepare the players very well psychologically”, Kunene said. Even though the head coach stated that it will not be an easy match, they are aiming to come back with a win. “We have to win the away match first before finishing the business in Nelspruit”, Kunene said.

The current MTN Premier League leading goal-scorer and the most capped player in the current national team, Sabelo Ndzinisa expressed his readiness for the match. “I am looking forward to the match and I also expect positive results”, Ndzinisa said. As a striker, Sabelo is looking forward in scoring more goals even on national team colours. “Scoring goals is my job; however, what is important is for the national team to win”, Ndzinisa said.
The national team captain, Sifiso Matse, highlighted that as players they know what is expected from them thus, they must work hard. “We know what is expected from us thus, we will fully apply ourselves in order to get positive results,” Matse said.
