
THE FIFA COACH MENTORING PROGRAMME COURSE SUCCEFULLY CONCLUDED
The FIFA Coach Mentoring Programme was successfully concluded on Friday, 18th July 2025, after five days of intensive learning that started on the 14th July 2025 at the Eswatini Football Association’s (EFA’s) Technical Centre in Lobamba. A total of 4 vastly experienced coaches participated in the program under the guidance of FIFA Mentor Mr. Francis Mogashoe.
This mentoring programme also duplicated to be an EFA Basic Coaching Course Phase 1 as the developed mentors were trained as they conducted the lectures of this course. A total of 25 participants graduated for the EFA Basic Coaching Course Phase 1.
In his remarks during the closing ceremony; FIFA Mentor Mr. Francis Mogasio praised the EFA’s Technical Director Mr. Bhekisisa Mkhonta, labelling him as “one of the best and a mobile library.” He highlighted the importance of such courses in strengthening grassroots football, saying, “There’s no player without a coach.”
EFA President Mr. Peter Simelane thanked the FIFA Instructor Mr Francis Mogasio and the local instructors who were the participants of the FIFA Coach Mentoring Programme for their efforts in empowering the participants of the EFA Basic Coaching Course Phase 1. He encouraged the coaches to remain humble, work hard, and strive for excellence, assuring them more support as they develop their coaching knowledge. Coach Instructors through Mr. Anthony Mdluli, thanked the EFA for supporting them in their educational journey; noting that their mentorship in Zambia and South Africa immensely helped them as they prepare for this mentoring programme course.
