SITSEBE SAMHLEKAZI GEARED UP FOR THE HOLLYWOODBETS COSAFA CHAMPIONSHIP
The Senior Women’s National Team (Sitsebe SaMhlekazi) head coach Bongani Makhukhula says the squad is ready for the 2024 COSAFA Women’s championships.
The national team will play against Namibia, Seychelles, and South Africa in Gqeberha, South Africa where the competition will be implemented. These countries are in Group A.
The senior woman national team will kick off the campaign against Seychelles on the 22nd October 2024 before taking on the South Africa on the 25th October 2024 and their final group phase match will be against Namibia on the 28th October 2024.
“We are looking forward to the competition despite having less time to prepare for the games and I am happy with the commitment of my players. I have faith in my team due to the commitment which they have shown during our friendly matches against Mozambique,” he said.
Meanwhile, the national team captain Nonhle Simelane said they are geared up for the regional showpiece.
“I am confident that we will perform well in the tournament despite having less time in camp. We cannot dwell much on the setbacks and have shifted our focus to the tournament where we want to get positive results,” she said.
