SITSEBE SAMHLEKAZI AND THE BRAVE GLADIATORS VOW TO TEAR EACH OTHER APART

The Eswatini Women’s National Team (Sitsebe SaMhlekazi) and the Namibian Senior Women National Team (Brave Gladiators) have vow to tear each other apart in the much-anticipated TotalEnergies WAFCON Qualifier 2026 Match to be played on Friday, 21st February 2026. The kick-off for this match is at 1500hrs.

Speaking to the members of the media during the Thursday afternoon pre-match press conference, Sitsebe SaMhlekazi’s head coach Bongani Makhukhula stated that they are ready for the match. “We are ready to see the Namibians fall,” Makhukhula said. Having lost to the Brave Gladiators during the latest Holleywoodbets COSAFA Women’s Championship, the Eswatini head coach highlighted that they have addressed their downfall and they have a plan to win this match. “Yes, Namibia is better ranked than us; however, having played against them in the COSAFA Cup, it has presented them with a perfect opportunity to know the Namibians better and they have addressed their weaknesses,” Makhukhula said. Sitsebe SaMhlekazi’s skipper Nonhle Simelane promised that they will do their best to win this match. “We promised to do our best in winning the match,” Simelane said.

Qualify

Meanwhile the Namibian Women National Team head coach Woody Jacobs also declared their readiness for this match as they want to qualify to the next round of the qualifiers. “We are ready for Eswatini as we want to qualify to the next round,” Jacobs said. He also highlighted that having played against Eswatini before and being victorious on the latest match does not hold any water in as far as this match is concerned, as it will be a different ball game.

“We are aware that we are not playing against a team that you can win against easily as they can be stronger due to the home ground advantage. Having played against Eswatini before and being victorious in the latest match does not guarantee a win as this match will be a different ball game,” Jacobs said. His words were echoed by the captain, Lovisa Mulunga who stated that they are optimistic about this match and the mood is very high in camp,” said Mulunga who has over 60 caps. She concluded by urging football fans to attend this match in support of women’s football.
