SIHLANGU GEARED UP FOR THEIR AFCON QUALIFIERS OPENER

The Senior Men’s National Team (Sihlangu SeMnikati) is geared up for the TotalEnergies AFCON Qualifiers against Guinea Bissau which will be the commencement of the road to the TotalEnergies AFCON Finals Morocco 2025 for both national teams.

“We will be gun blazing as we want to make the country proud by winning this match”, said Justice Figareido who plays his club football in the Republic of South Africa for Richards Bay F.C. His words wre echoed by Sifiso Matse who highlighted that as players they want to play well. “We want to play well in as far as this TotalEnergies AFCON Qualifiers are concerned.”, Matse said.

Injuries

Besides the two players who have been dropped from the national team due to injuries, all is well according to the caretaker coach of the national team Sifiso Ntibane. “Besides the injuries of Siphosethu Mabilisa and Sibusiso Dlamini which resulted to both players being dropped, the preparations are going well”, Ntibane said. As a consequence of the players being dropped, the coach highlighted that no replacement will be made. The coach banks his hopes of winning this match to the players who were in action during the CAF interclub competitions as their match fitness levels will be of great help in the squad. “Some of the players played in the CAF interclub competitions and will be of great help towards the performance of the national team,” Ntibane said.

Eswatini will play against Guinea Bissau on the 5th September 2024 at the Estadio Nacional 24 de Setembro.
