SIHLANGU AIMS FOR GOOD RESULTS AS THEY LEAVE FOR ANGOLA AND MAURITIUS
The Senior Men’s National Team (Sihlangu SeMnikati) is aiming for good results when they play two away matches against Angola and Mauritius respectively in the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers. Speaking during the farewell function for the national team that was held on Wednesday morning at the EFA’s Technical Centre in Lobamba, the head coach Dominic Kunene disclosed that the players are well prepared and geared up for good results. “The team is well prepared and we have an injury free squad. The players are committed in getting good results.
The national team captain, Sifiso Matse also stated that they are well prepared for the matches and in as far as their future in the competition is concerned, they still have a chance to progress. “We are prepared for both matches. In terms of our future in the competition, it is not yet over regardless of our sloppy start in the qualifiers as anything can happen in football,” Matse said.
Present during this event was the Director for the Ministry of Sports, Culture, and Youth Affairs Lucky Sihlongonyane, EFA Vice President Steve Horton, EFA Executive Committee Member and Chairperson of the Lubombo Regional Football Association Nichodemus Mashwama, and the General Secretary of the EFA Frederick Mngomezulu amongst others.
The Nation
The Director of Sports, Culture, and Youth Affairs congratulated the players for being part of the national team and urged them to represent the nation very well. “Congratulations to the players for being part of the national team, and they must always remember that they are now playing for the nation. Nothing is impossible as you are capable of getting good results”, Sihlongonyane said.
The Vice President reminded the players about the importance of getting good results. “The nation wants good results. Do not dwell much on the previous results as they are now part of history. They may have an impact on paper but not in your performance on the upcoming match days,” Horton said.
Eswatini will play against Angola on the 7th June 2024, then play against Mauritius four days later.
