SIFISO ‘NURO’NTIBANE TO LEAD SIHLANGU DURING THE COSAFA CUP
The U23 Men’s National Team head coach, Sifiso ‘Nuro’Ntibane will lead the Senior Men’s National Team (Sihlangu SeMnikati) in the upcoming COSAFA Cup Tournament. This was after the EFA opted for a youthful team to compete during this tournament. Sifiso Ntibane will be assisted by Mduduzi Nxumalo (U20 Men’s National Team Head Coach), and Sindiso Gama (U17 Men’s National Team Head Coach).
This technical bench will be finalised upon the return of Sihalngu SeMnikati from Mauritius where Sifiso Ntibane was one of the assistant coaches of the former interim bench of the national team. “The EFA has decided to assign the youth squads coaches for the upcoming COSAFA Cup tournament. These coaches are the U23 Men’s, U20 Men’s, and U17 Men’s Head Coaches”, said the EFA President Peter Simelane.
He highlighted that one of the mandates of the EFA is to have Sihlangu SeMnikati qualifying for international competitions and the plan towards achieving this is to have a youthful national team,” Simelane said.
The immediate task for the new interim technical bench is to select the players who will commence a full-time camp on Friday, 14th June 2024. The EFA President also thanked the efforts of the previous interim technical bench as the recruitment process of the full-time head coach of the national team is sill on-going. “We thank the effort of the previous technical bench of the national team regardless of the results as the recruitment process for the full-time head coach continues,” Simelane said.
