
PC SYSTEMS EMPOWERS THE GIRL CHILD THROUGH FOOTBALL
Pc Systems have invested E51 000 towards the development of women’s football for this year; which will be the case annually till 2027. When presenting the sponsorship, Mandla Zulu who is the IT Director of Pc Systems highlighted that as an organisation; they realize the significance of empowering the girl child through sport. “As an organisation, we celebrate and recognize what sponsorship contribute towards the development of football. It is very important to empower women in society so that they realize their dreams,” Zulu said. He also highlighted that, as an organisation they felt that the Girl Child deserve to compete in well- coordinated programs.
In reacting to the sponsorship by Pc Systems, the General Secretary (GS) of the EFA Frederick Mngomezulu expressed EFA’s appreciation to PC Systems for being part of the U19 Girls Schools Football Programme. “The EFA appreciates PC Systems for being part of the development of women’s football wagon,” Mngomezulu said. He alluded that this investment by Pc Systems is a testimony that girls can participate in football and even better than men. “This investment is a testimony that girl can participate in football and even better than men,” Mngomezulu said.
Sponsorships come with certain obligations to different stakeholders; thus, the GS emphasised on the significance of portraying a good image. “Image is important; thus, we must portray the best image of football which also talk to our conduct. This goes with responsibility about issues of the programme. The EFA’s GS also challenged the players to maximise this platform as they want to see them playing for the national teams in the future. Safeguarding issues are also incorporated in this programme.
