MAHLANYA PROFESSIONALS F.C. CROWNED BUILD IT MATASPHA U13 CHAMPIONS
The Build It Under Matsapha U13 Tournament took center stage on Saturday, 26th July 2025, at the Swazi National Sport Ground. What unfolded was a thrilling spectacle that captured the true unpredictability and excitement of grassroots football.
Mahlanya Professionals, the dark horses of the tournament, defied all odds to clinch the championship in the most unexpected fashion. Their road to include a stunning semi-final upset over Usuthu Stars F.C., who had looked untouchable in the group stages, winning all three matches without conceding a goal. But Mahlanya Professionals F.C. stood tall, holding Usuthu Stars F.C. to a goalless draw and then edging them out 3-2 in a dramatic penalty shootout.
Meanwhile, Super 16 F.C. also delivered a surprise blow in the other semi-final, eliminating another tournament favorite, Young Heroes F.C., who had remained unbeaten throughout, with their worst result being a 1-1 draw.
In the finals, it was Mahlanya Professionals F.C. vs. Super 16 F.C., a clash no one saw coming. The boys from Mahlanya continued their fairytale run, showing grit and hunger to secure a 2-1 victory and lift the trophy on the day.
