THE EFA EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE FOR THE NEXT TERM CONFIRMED

The Eswatini Football Association (EFA) successfully conducted its elections as part of the Ordinary General Assembly (OGA), held on Sunday, 17th August 2025, at the Hilton Garden Inn in Mbabane. Mr. Peter Simelane retained his position as President of the EFA, marking his second consecutive term as the head of the organization.

In what was an intense two-horse race between Mr. Simelane and his former Vice President, Mr. Mashumi Shongwe, the outcome was difficult to predict. Ultimately, Mr. Simelane emerged victorious, securing 27 votes compared to Mr. Shongwe’s 21 votes.

Vice Presidents

Mr. Nkosing’phile Shongwe secured his first term on the EFA Executive Committee by receiving the highest votes for one of the two Vice President positions, with 31 votes. Joining him is Mr. Steven Horton, who earned 26 votes, qualifying for the other Vice President role.

Executive Committee Members

For the two Executive Committee Member positions, Mr. Aaron Mavimbela received the highest votes in this category, with a total of 36 votes. He was followed by Mr. Sicelo Nene, who garnered 29 votes, thereby maintaining his status as an Executive Committee Member of the EFA.

Women’s Member

In the Women’s Executive Committee Member race, Ms. Phumzile Dlamini faced off against Ms. Sindi Dludlu. Ms. Dlamini emerged victorious with 29 votes, compared to Ms. Dludlu’s 17 votes, securing her position as the Women’s Executive Committee Member.
