The U17s Men’s National Team participated in the SAFA Durban Central Tournament where they played a total of 4 group stages matches. They won 2 matches, drew 1 match and lost 1 match. These results were enough for their qualification to the semi-finals where they won and proceeded to the finals. They lost the final match by an odd goal which made them to be the runners up of the competition. According to the U17s Men’s National Coach; Velekhaya Mtsetfwa, this was a good competition as it gave them a clear picture in terms of where they are; as a national team; in as far as their level of play is concerned. “It was a good competition, however; there is more work that need to be done in as far as the psychological aspect of the players is concerned”, he said.
