As per Circular No.133; the Eswatini Football Association (EFA) will on Friday, 13th December 2019 close for the festive period and re-open for the rest of the 2019/2020 football season on Monday, 6th January 2020. It is for this reason that the EFA encourages its members and stakeholders to guarantee all matters obliging the approachability of the national office to have been done by the 13th December 2019.

“The EFA at this period of the year exclusive appreciate for the collaboration and good rapport to the Members and stakeholders since the start of the 2019 calendar year and the 2019/2020 football season and trusts that such good collaborative spirit will in the second half of the 2019/2020 season and the imminent 2020 calendar year, which is essential for the continual maturity of the game”, read the statement.

The EFA and football family further wishes His Majesty King Mswati III; Her Majesty The Indlovukazi; the Royal Household; Head of Government and Government; Football Family and Sporting Family in general and Stakeholders applicable a safe and successful Incwala Ceremony; festive season with extended wishes for a Merry Christmas and affluence in 2020.

The EFA kindly remind her members that the second window registration period shall commence on Monday, 6th January 2020 and close on Friday, 31st January 2020. Clubs are urged to take note of this period as there won’t be any extension unless on account of exceptional circumstances. "The Regulations for the Status and Transfer of Players are promulgated by FIFA regulates that no extension and/or alterations to this period shall be allowed and therefore, in this view, that all registration must be achieved within stipulated time limits”, said part of the statement.

The U20 Men’s National Team Head Coach, Mr.  Dominic Kunene is very proud of his players. “Mozambique gave us a tough game and we knew it was not going to be an easy one. I am very proud of my players”, Kunene said. He made his remarks during the post-match press conference after the match against Mozambique at the Sunset Stadium, in Zambia.

Kunene also highlighted that players created so many chances and they managed to defend the goals. “Our plan for this match was to protect our goal post and wait for our opponent to create some spaces at the back and utilize those spaces”, he said. He further stated that for the next match they need to focus, work extra hard and work on players mentally. “This is Eswatini chance to show the rest of the world what they can do and make our nation proud”, he added.

The U20 Men’s National Team has won their first match against Mozambique by 2-0. Eswatini goals were scored by Lindokuhle Zwane 65th minutes and Majahesibili Ndlovu 92nd Minutes. The best player of the match was Wenzile Lushaba. Eswatini will play their 2nd match against Seychelles on Sunday, 8th December 2019 at Sunset Stadium, in Zambia. Kick-off is at 12:45 pm.

The Eswatini Football Association’s (EFA’s) President Mr. Adam Mthethwa has urged the coaches to support each other in order for them to assist in developing football in the country.  He made his remarks during the farewell ceremony for the U20 Men’s National Team to Zambia on Tuesday, 3rd December 2019 at the Technical Centre, in Lobamba. “I urge you coaches to support each other for you to assist in developing football in the country”, Mthethwa said.

Mthethwa also highlighted that as football association they try all their best to make the nation participate in all the categories because they believe that it is the only way they can rank football development in the country. “Despite that people are criticizing football, we need to make our own history”, he said. He further stated that players are very much special as they are playing for the national team and urged them to work hard towards getting good results.

Over and above, Mthethwa wished the National Team a safe journey to Zambia. “On behalf of the football association, we wish you a safe journey. Go there and make your own history by coming back home with gold”, he added.
