Magwanyane, Rail United meet in top-of-the table clash 

Swazi Trac Lubombo Super League leaders Magwanyane FC meet Rail United in a top-of-the-table clash as the title race intensifies. The game, which is anticipated to be a potential thriller, is billed for Tabankhulu Stadium on Sunday. Magwanyane will be playing their second game of their double weekend fixtures as they also have a date with Home Sparrows at Mayaluka Stadium on Friday evening. Magwanyane go to the weekend  fixtures topping the table with 23 points in 10 games and they are leading second placed Rail United with four points. The latter have 19 points in 11 games. Depending on the Friday fixture,  Rail United will be hoping to close the gap while Magwanyane will be vying to extend the lead. Third placed Samampela FC, who have 18 points, have a date with Sikhalo seAfrica at Siteki Sports Ground on Saturday. According to the full fixture released by Lubombo Regional Football Association  (LRFA) Secretary General Sicelo Nene, a double header is billed for Mayaluka Stadium on Friday where CPL meet CK Survivors after the Home Sparrows/ Magwanyane game ealier on. Other fixtures will see City Warriors taking on Distillers at Tambuti Stadium before another potential thriller pitting Juventus against Young Aces. Ubombo Flyers meet Malahleni United at Malahleni Sports Ground while Gucuka Cosmos visit Tabankhulu Celtics at Tabanhkhulu Stadium. Bhelebane Sundowns cross swords with Home Sparrows at Siphoso Sports Ground on Sunday.

Zamalek claim top spot in RSSC Siyakha League 

Zamalek FC  have claimed top spot in the RSSC Siyakha North East League. The Shewula ensemble beat Silver Stars 2-1 to leapfrog long-time leaders, Free At Last. The latter succumbed to a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Shewula Arsenal in their weekend fixture. Zamalek are now sitting on the summit with 13 points in five games, and hot on their heels is Bacambi with 11 points, while Free At Last are pushed to  third with 10 points. Bacambi beat Zwelabantu 4-2 in their weekend fixture while 4th placed Shewula Professionals were held to a 1-all draw by basement side, JB. Professionals are now tied with 3rd placed Free At Last at 10 points. JB remain at the bottom with two points and they share the same number of points with 12th placed Silver Stars. Summarise and Juventus played a 1-all draw while Rhinos humilated Juventus 4-0. The 13-team league enters game six this weekend and the fixtures are headlined by a potential thriller between leaders, Zamalek and Arsenal at Mphelandzaba Sports Ground on Saturday. Kick off time is 11 AM. 2nd placed Bacambi face an acid test against fellow title chasers, Professionals at Shewula High School Sports ground, and this game will be followed by another interesting encounter pitting Zwelabantu FC against wounded Free At Last.

Fierce competition in RSSC Siyakha North East League 

Free At Last FC and Zamalek are off to a good start in the RSSC Siyakha North East League.Free At Last are on the summit and they are tied at 10 points with 2nd placed Zamalek. Both teams are unbeaten in their opening four games, having recorded three wins and one draw. Free At Last were in a goal-scoring spree over the weekend as they humiliated struggling Silver Stars 7-2 in a one-sided encounter while their fellow competitors Zamalek beat Shewula Classic 2-1 to mantain consistency. Third placed Shewula Professionals beat XI Stars 2-1 to mantain their position with nine points. Occupying the 4th spot is Bacambi who beat  Shewula Arsenal 1-0 to reach eight points. Basement side JB suffered their 3rd defeat as they were beaten by Zwelabantu 5-1. The latter is now 5th with six points and they are tied with 6th placed Arsenal. Rhinos recorded their first win at the expense of Juventus whom they beat 2-1 to climb to the 10th spot. Juventus are now pushed to 11th spot with two points in three games. The league comprise of 13 teams.

 Siweni United, Promising Stars in scintillating title race

It is surely going down to the wire in Mbuso Maseko Malindza League. Leaders Siweni United and 2nd placed Promising Stars are consistently grinding the results as the league title race intensifies. Both teams scored five goals past their opponents in their weekend fixtures. Siweni  humilated Dvokodvweni United 5-0 to mantain their pole position while Promising Stars annihilated Eleven Angels 5-1 to keep their title hopes alive with nine games played. Siweni now have 22 points, and they are separated by two points with Promising Stars who are at 20 points. Lubhuku United, who were held to a goalless draw by Juventus, are third with 15 points. Hot on their heels is Malindza United who are 4th with 14 points. United are games behind since they were not in action over the weekend. It proved to be weekend of goals as Umseshi massacred Umshana 6-0 to mantain their 5th spot with 12 points. They are tied with 6th placed  Lubhuku Young Stars, who succumbed to a 2-1 defeat against Black Mamba. The latter are now 7th with 11 points. Zamalek were held to a 1-all draw against basement side Calabash.

Young Heroes maintain lead in Lubombo Eastern Zone League 

Young Heroes continue to occupy the pole position in the Thajo Investment Lubombo Eastern Zone A Division League. They beat Young Zebras 1-0 in their weekend fixture, and they now have 16 points in six games. They are leading 2nd placed Real Madrid with two points. The latter have 14 points. Both Heroes and Madrid are the only teams unbeaten so far in the campaign. Ngcina FC remains in position three with 13 points despite their 2-1 defeat at the hands of Lukhula Bayern. Six to Six beat Matsetsa Chiefs 6-2 to maintain their fourth spot. The league comprises of 14 teams and Zero Cosmos remain rooted at the basement with two points. They are tied with 13th placed Mpolonjeni United and 12th placed Matsetsa Chiefs, who are all winless in five games. Mpolonjeni United were condemned to their 3rd defeat at the hands of Hot Chillies with a 2-0 scoreline, while Zero Cosmos were not in action. The league enters week six this weekend and the fixtures are headlined by a potential thriller between leaders Young Heroes and Six to Six, a game billed for Ngcina Sports ground in Saturday. Real Madrid who is fierce contenders face Ngcina FC in another top-of-the table clash slated for Ngcina Sports ground on Sunday. The action packed weekend will also see basement side Zero Cosmos having a date with Good Shepherd on Sunday. Meanwhile under the B division, leaders Wenela Pirates face Dangerous Darkies. Pirates, who are unbeaten in the campaign, are on the summit with 10 points. They are closely followed by Lukhula Black Stars who are 2nd with eight points. The latter host Bush Ranger at Siteki Sports ground this weekend.

Magwanyane FC extend lead, Rail United drop points in Swazi Trac League 

Rampaging Magwanyane FC are surely riding the crest of the waves in Swazi Trac Lubombo Super League. The Big bend ensemble extend their lead as they beat City Warriors 1-0  in their weekend fixture, while their closest competitors, Rail United dropped points as they were held 1-1 by Malahleni United. Magwanyane are now at 23 points in 10 games while 2nd placed Rail United have 19 points in 11 games. Fresh from winning the Ingwenyama Cup - Lubombo final seven days ago, Magwanyane continued to grind the positive results in the league as they recorded their 7th win at the expense of the former MTN National First Division side. City Warriors who are at 17 points were hoping to leapfrog Rail United by beating Magwanyane but the result could not go their way - and they remain 4th. They are tied with 3rd placed 3rd placed Tabankhulu Celtics, who were not in action over the weekend. In the opposite side of the table Young Aces continue to be rooted at the basement with eight points after playing a 2-all draw with 15th placed CK Survivors. The latter also have eight points. Gucuka Cosmos beat CPL 1-0 to ease their relegation woes and climb to mid-table. Cosmos are now at 12 points after recording their 3rd win over the weekend. Meanwhile Magwanyane FC remain the only Swazi Trac Lubombo Super league team representing the region in the main Ingwenyama Cup tournament where they have a date with elite league sugar belt side Mhlume Peacemakers at Mayaluka Stadium on Saturday. They are also in the semi-final of the regional phase of the tournament where they will battle it out with winners from the other regions for the E40 000 winner’s prize at stake.

Bombers, Vultures in Western league title race 

Bombers and Hungry Vultures are showing strong title intent in the Lubombo Western Zone A Division League. With 11 games played Bombers are leading the pack with 23 points, and they are separated by a single point with Vultures who are second. Bombers might have suffered a humilating defeat at the hands of Mamisa United over the weekend, but they continue to remain on top until or unless 2nd placed, Vultures win their pending game. The latter was not in action over the weekend and they stand a good chance to leapfrog Bombers, thus bring an interesting title race. Title dream is also alive for Red Lion who are third with 20 points, and are separated by three points with the table toppers. Red Lion were not in action over the weekend, and they feel the pressure from 4th placed Mamisa United who humilated Bombers 4-1 in their weekend fixture. United now have 19 points in 11 games. The league is made out of 16 teams who are competing for promotion to the super league. Meanwhile the two bottoms placed teams are relegated to the zonal second division. Currently Stone Breakers are rooted at the basement with four points, and they are trailing 15th placed Mamisa Professionals with five points. The latter have nine points in 11 games, and they are also languishing in the dreaded relegation quagmire.

Magwanyane FC claim top spot in Swazi Trac Super League 

The Swazi Trac Lubombo Super League title race took a twist this past weekend as Magwanyana FC leapfrogged Rail United to claim the top spot. Magwanyana beat Bhelebane Sundowns 1-0 to reach 20 points while Rail United, who succumbed to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of unbeaten Tabankhulu Celtics, are now sitting in 2nd spot with 18 points. Rail United were inflicted their second defeat within a space of three days, following their defeat by Magwanyana in the regional Ingwenyama Cup semi final on Friday and a league defeat by Celtics. Meanwhile, Magwanyana recorded their 2nd win within the same period. With six wins in nine games, Magwanyana have scored 13 goals and conceded six to see a one of their best season in years. Newcomers are third with 17 points, and they are separated by  three points with 4th placed City Warriors. The latter who recorded their 6th win at the expense of Sikhalo seAfrica whom they beat 3-0 are at 14 points, tied with 5th placed Home Sparrows, and 6th placed CPL. Sparrows beat Malahleni 3-2 in their weekend fixture while CPL played a goalless draw against Ubombo Flyers. The going seem to be tougher for CK Survivors who are rooted in the basement with four  points in eight games. Also languishing in the relegation quagmire is Gucuka Cosmos who are positioned 15th with six points. Other results saw newcomers  Distillers beating Juventus 1-0 while Young Aces beat Samampela 1-0 in an entertaining game.The league enters week 10 this weekend and interesting fixtures are on the cards as battle for championship takes centre stage.

 Regional Ingwenyama Cup: Flyers, Magwanyana meet in Lubombo final.

Ubombo Flyers and Magwanyane FC will meet in the final of Lubombo Ingwenyama Cup after winning their respective semi-final encounters on Friday evening at Mayaluka Stadium. Flyers, the reigning regional Ingwenyama Cup champions, managed to beat CK Survivors 1-0  while Magwanyane, who are the reigning champions of Swazi Trac Top 8, beat Rail United 2-0 to set a date with the Big bend outfit. The double header proved to be the centre of attraction as hordes of football followers filled the stadium to rally behind their favourite teams. It was Flyers who first marched to the final as they put their opponents to the sword in the first match, and it proved to be an entertaining affair. By the time Magwanyane and Rail United entered the field of play, the spectators were already waiting with bated breath to see who join Flyers in the final. It was the ground that suffered the most as the two sides battle it out for the funal spot - and it was Magwanyane who had the last laugh. Scenes of jubilation were the order of the night within the two teams set of supporters as they watched their sides marching closer to the E40 000 national championship winners prize at stake. At this stage the winner between Flyers and Magwanyane will qualify to play in the 32 teams main tournament while the losers will compete for the two available spot allocated for the six regional super league teams. Date and venue of the final is yet to be confirmed.

Tabankhulu FC jump to top spot in RSSC Siyakha League

Tabankhulu FC have leapfrogged Revelations to jump to the top spot in RSSC Siyakha North West League. The Tabankhulu ensemble beat Young Killers 2-1 while their fellow contenders, Revelations shockingly succumbed to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of basement side, Tongaart Young Stars. The latter recorded their first win in five games to jump to the 10th spot with three points. Tabakhulu FC who are now on top, have 12 points and are tied with 2nd placed Revelations. Equator beat Tsambokhulu Rovers 1-0 to mantain their 3rd spot with 10 points while Brave Lions annihilated 6-2 to reach 10 points in position four. Born Again who were condemned  to their 3rd defeat in five games are now rooted at  the basement with two points. They are tied with 11th placed Mhlume Highlanders who also suffered their 3rd defeat at the hands of Mhlume Professionals with a 3-2 scoreline. The league is made out of 12 teams who are competing for promotion to the Swazi Trac Lubombo Super League.

Siweni United mean business this season! They are on top of the table in the Mbuso Maseko Malindza Zonal League after recording their 6th win at the expense of resilient Highway FC whom the beat 4-3 over the weekend. United are now at 18 points and they are closely followed by Promising Stars with 16 points. The latter were held to 1-all draw by Umseshi FC over the weekend. Occupying the 3rd spot is Lubhuku United with 13 points after suffering a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Black Mamba. Completing the top four is Malindza United who have 11 points after playing a goalless draw with Lubhuku Young Stars. Calabash FC continue to witness a nightmarish season as they are rooted at the basement with five points in seven games after playing a 1-1 draw with  Dvokodvweni United. Other results of the weekend saw Eleven Angels beating Juventus 6-1 to reach 8 points in position 10 while Zamalek continue to plunge down to the relegation quagmire with six points after being defeated 2-0 by Mshana Stone Breakers

Young Heroes, Real Madrid battle in Eastern Zone League 

It is survival of the fittest in Thajo Investment Lubombo Eastern Zone A Division League. Young Heroes and Real Madrid are showing strong intent for championship with four games played. Both sides are tied at 10 points, and the only difference is that Heroes are on top with superior goal difference. Results of the past weekend saw Young Heroes beating Ngcina FC 2-1 while Real Madrid thrashed Good Shepherd FC 3-0 to ensure that they remain on course of title contention. Both Heroes and Madrid are unbeaten and they have three wins and one draw. Occupying the 3rd spot is Young Zebras with seven points and they are tied with three othres; 4th placed Ngcina FC,  5th placed  Boys to Men and 6th  Six to Six FC. Young Zebras were held to a 2-all draw by Zero Cosmos in their weekend fixture while Boys to Men beat Hot Chillies 3-1. Six to Six were beaten 1-0 by Tiger Boys. City Rollers went amok to massacre struggling Mpolonjeni United 5-0 in a one-sided encounter. The league comprise of 14 teams who are competing for promotion to the Swazi Trac Super League, albeit via the newly introduced promotional play-offs.

                The PLE

The Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) is an affiliate of the Eswatini Football Association (EFA). This is the only most senior football body recognized by EFA. The PLE runs the Premier and the National First Division leagues. The PLE has twenty six (26), members who are also the affiliates. This organization has 3 bodies which are; The Board of Governors, Operators Committee, and the Standing committees. The Board of Governors is the supreme body of the PLE. The Board of Governors is the only body that elect the Executive committee of the organization which is made up of six (6) members that are headed by the Chairman. The Executive Committee runs the PLE on behalf of the Board of Governors. The Operations Committee is responsible for the management and control of the PLE. It consists of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) who is employed by the EXCO and this person heads the secretoriate of the PLE and the operation functions of the PLE shall vest and be entrusted by the CEO. The operations committee has an additional of 3 members who are selected by the EXCO. THE Standing Committees consist of the Disciplinary committee, Dispute Resolution Chamber and Ombudsmen. The dispute Resolution Chamber is a tribunal handling disputes issues within the PLE. An Ombudsman is an official appointed by the PLE to investigate individual’s complaints against maladministration in the business that affects the PLE.

The Hhohho Youth Development

Background

The Hhohho Youth Development is a standing Committee of the Hhohho Regional Football Association which is tasked with establishment of Junior Leagues in all the HRFA Regional Leagues. The Hhohho Region has experienced an increase in the number of junior leagues in the 2018/2019. The junior leagues were established in the following regions; Mdzimba, Maphalaleni and Nkhaba.

Objective and Aims

As per article 56 of the HRFA Constitution the Hhohho Youth Development aims as follows:

• Develop and administrate youth football.
• Establish junior’s leagues across the Hhohho Region.
• Develop players and prepare them for promotions.
• Develop coaches and create platform to practice coaching skills.
• Develop referees and create environment for them to practice.

Calendar

The Hhohho Youth Development calendar starts from February to August; this schedule helps accommodate the players to prepare for School Examination as most of the participants in the development are scholars, however due to the geographic location of the leagues some juniors leagues are forced to start at the end of May especially in the rural based areas agriculture is mostly practiced and the young males play a major role in looking after cattle.
