FIFA FITNESS COURSE OFFICIALLY CLOSED
The FIFA Fitness Course that was held at the Technical Centre in Lobamba was officially closed
by the President of the National Football association of Swaziland (NFAS), Senator Adam Mthethwa. When addressing the gathering, the President of the NFAS congratulated the participants for successfully completing the course and acknowledged the support from FIFA.
“I would like to congratulate the participants for completing the course and also acknowledge the support from FIFA in as far as football development is concerned”, said the President of the NFAS. He also encouraged the participants by telling them that if they show some hunger in developing themselves football wise, FIFA is always available for support. “If you do, FIFA does”, he said. Lastly, he told the participants that they have to be proud of their achievements as they are key in football development as they do the implementation.
Also addressing the audience was the FIFA Instructor, Mr Gary Philips, who encouraged the participants to be always hungry for more knowledge. “Education is a lifelong process”, he said. He also told the participants to apply what they have learnt as fitness is a key priority in football. He reminded them that, their main mandate as fitness coaches is to improve the performance of players. He also thanked the participants for their attention during the course and wished them all the best.
Speaking on behalf of the participants was Mr Wilton Mamba who notified the President of the NFAS and the audience that the course was very intensive and an eye opener for them at the same time. “Before this course, we thought that fitness was about running, but we have realised that it has to balance with football technics and tactics”, he said. Lastly he thanked the football association for the provision of such courses as they look forward for more of them in the future.
