The Senior Men’s National Team left the country for Tunis to play against Tunisia in the last match of the 2019 TOTAL AFCON Qualifier Match. Sihlangu SeMnikati’s delegation includes 20 players and 9 officials which is headed by the Eswatini Football Association’s (EFA’s) Vice President Dr. Comfort Shongwe. The national team left the country by road and will connect a flight in OR Tambo International Airport and fly via Dubai. Sihlangu is scheduled to arrive in Tunisia on Thursday morning.
When addressing the players; the Honourable Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs Harris Bulunga urged the players to put mor effort in this match as they are representing the country. “You must put more effort in this match as you are not playing for yourselves but representing the country.”; Bulunga said. The Hounarable Minister also reminded the players that Sihlangu is a brand of which good results are very much key in making prospective sponsors to invest in the national team. “Sihlangu is a brand thus good results are very much vital in order for prospective sponsors to invest in the national team”; the Honourable Minister said.
Also present during the farewell event of the Nation’s Pride were the Senior officials in the Ministry of Sports, Culture and Youth affairs who included the Principal Secretary Prince Mlayeto, Under Secretary Mr. Nhlanhla Motsa; EFA’s president Mr. Adam Mthethwa and Chief executive Officer of the EFA Mr. Frederick Mngomezulu.
Sihlangu SeMnikati is expected back home on Sunday, 24th March 2019. This official international match will be played on Friday, 22nd March 2019 and kick-off is at 1915 hrs Tunisian time. The travelling players are:
